How facts are handled

Every number, date, limit, named customer and named regulation on this site is stored once, with its source and the date it was true. Pages cite that record rather than restating the figure, so a correction reaches every page at once.

Primary sources come first: the Reserve Bank of India, NPCI, other regulators, the Government of India and official annual reports. Reputable press is used where no primary source exists and is labelled as reported. Vendor statements are labelled as the vendor's claim. Figures that change monthly link to the live source instead of repeating a number that will go stale.

A fact is marked verified only after its source was opened and read. Anything that could not be confirmed is left out.

Freshness

Each fact is reviewed at least every 90 days, and monthly figures every 45 days.
